Livestock is a big part of our farm and we take pride in the care we take for our animals. From cows to sheep and pigs, animals are a top priority on our farm.
Beef
All together we raise Black and Red Angus cow/calf pairs on pasture in Eastern Iowa. Most calves are sold around 7 months of age to a feedlot to be raised to finishing weight.
Dairy
We milk about 60 head of dairy cattle twice a day. The herd is mostly Holstein with some Jersey’s and some HoJo crosses. We raise all heifer calves and replacement heifers on farm
Direct to Consumer Meat Sales
We are excited to announce that Ben and Amber Selman of Grate View Farms now offer direct to consumer meat from our locally raised animals.
